This committee consists of 4 members whose main focus is individual fundraising initiatives which contribute towards the members mandatory fundraising goals. According to the school’s fundraising plan for the year, these members will advertise fundraiser, distribute catalogues and/or order forms, collect orders and funds, co-ordinate delivery and disbursement of orders.
Responsible for informing all members of changes in schedules (ie. Snow days) and reminding members of meetings, fundraising deadlines, and trips. Submit periodic pictures and stories to local newspaper to promote school in community. Arrange to have local newspaper attend school events. Update and distribute phone and e-mail list. Work with various committees to communicate upcoming events. Produce a newsletter informing members of upcoming events, announcements, schedule changes and parenting tips.
This committee consists of a minimum of 5 members who will be responsible for planning and execution of the children’s Christmas party within the budgeted amount. Responsibilities include planning activities, food, entertainment, set-up and decorations, and clean-up. You will also be responsible for selecting, purchasing and wrapping gifts for the children.
This committee consists of a minimum of 4 members who will be responsible for planning and execution of the children’s graduation picnic within the budgeted amount. Responsibilities include: promote event, plan location, time, activities, food, entertainment, and decorations, perform set-up of picnic area, and co-ordinate clean-up. Assist teacher with preparation of graduation certificates and hats.
Select and propose trips based on program themes or entertainment. Survey members regarding trips that they would like to go on. Seek supervisor’s approval for proposed trips and tentative dates. Organize, promote and collect funds (when required) for trips. Goal = Minimum 1 trip approximately every 6 weeks. Also arrange for guests to come to school and talk/entertain children.
This committee consists of a minimum of 4 members whose main goal is to fill all 16 spaces per class in September. These members will conduct an open house, increase community’s awareness of school, and determine school’s level of participation in the Binbrook Fair. Co-ordinate submissions to local newspapers/TV stations with Communication Parent.
Fix school equipment and make general repairs when necessary. Responsible for monthly and annual inspections of playground to ensure all safety requirements are met. Co-ordinate repair and/or replacement of equipment as necessary. Performs playground maintenance tasks (ie. tilling sand, removing weeds from safety surface, trimming trees, and annual cleaning of shed).
Responsible for recording the school year with photographs. Take pictures at all school events, trips and in the classroom. Review and select photos to be printed which have been taken on classroom camera. Arrange photos in scrapbook, as well as provide written description of activities and participants. Submit photos to be displayed on website. Provide photos to communication parent for newspaper submissions.
Responsible for assisting teacher with preparation and running of classroom parties, including Halloween, Valentines, Easter, and Mother’s Day
Responsible for decorating the classroom based on program themes. Teacher will provide a decoration plan so that changes to classroom decorations are performed on a timely basis.
This committee consists of a minimum of 10 members who are responsible for planning and execution of the school’s annual fundraiser. Responsibilities include planning activities, food, and entertainment, advertising and ticket selling, soliciting donations, performing set-up and decorating, and co-ordinating other members duties during the event.
Responsible for the purchasing supplies for the classroom , picking up mail at the Binbrook Post Office at least twice per week, and making play dough for the classroom. Conduct semi-annual review of first aid kit and purchase first aid supplies as required.
Responsible for preparation and distribution of monthly duty schedule 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the month. Ensure that duty parents are scheduled correct number of days according to enrolment. Gather other information to be reported on schedule, including children’s birthdays, program themes, trips and meetings. Ensure duty schedule is posted on website. Responsible for updating cleaning schedule as new members enrol and others leave.
Responsible for assisting the teacher in the preparation of art and craft supplies. Collect and label children’s art for display at the Binbrook Fair. Assist in preparation of craft activities for school parties and Breakfast with Santa.
